The light sculpture along the Lime Tongue now leads to the Crow's Nest - a 40m high mast at the centre of Whitehaven Harbour. Lighting all around the harbour means that it is now an attractive place to walk at night with all the decorative pavements and quaysides well lit.

The tented structure of the Hub looks almost like a flying saucer as it is illuminated by a central pillar of light plus lights around the rim.

The fluorescent wave along the Lime Tongue not only bathes the quay in atmospheric light it is also reflected by the water - blue on one side, green on the other.

The Sugar Tongue is also lit with fluorescent columns plus lights built into the sculptured seating.

The Crow's Nest is the centrepiece. It is in the form of a ships mast 40 metres high with a domed viewing platform, with seating, at its base. Although plain white during the day, computer controlled lighting, determined by changes in wind speed, transforms it at night into all the colours of the rainbow.
