The main lights are in the market place, and along King Street and Lowther street. But apart from the council lighting there are many private houses putting on great displays.

This house, opposite the end of Howgill street, desrves special mention as its spectacular floral displays in summer give way to a festival of lights to brighten up the winter nights.

Reindeer and sleigh

On the 13th of December Father Christmas visited Whitehaven again this time pulled in his sleigh by Reindeer. The Cairngorm Reindeer were harnessed on the Millennium Promenade and made their way around town to St. Nicholas gardens were they met by crowds of people.
